MultiBox Webmail

MultiBox Webmail is recommended for reading and sending e-mail from accounts registred at MultiBox.

First Login

At first login a window with your account details will appear.
Here you can edit your Account Name, primary and reply-to e-mail addresses, and signature.
Account Name and E-mail address (“John Doe” john.doe@examle.com) are used as “Sent by” when sending messages, and are required. Other fields can be left empty, and can be configured later in “Settings > Identittes”.


Adding additional accounts

MultiBox Webmail allows users tomanage mail for multiple accounts without needing to login into each one separatley.
Currently tested and confirmed to work are accounts registred at MultiBox and GMail accounts.
Other providers should work, but are not tested by MultiBox.

Each account is represented as separate Identity in webmail client.
To manage additional email accounts, you first need to add a new identity. Follow the steps bellow to add new identity/e-mail account…

1. Go to the Webmail application settings: Settings > Identities.
2. In the bottom row of the window with the list of identities, click the “Create New Identity” button.
3. Fill in the “Display Name” and “Email” fields (don't fill in anything else).
4. Click the “Save” button (in the bottom right corner).
5.Now in the “Data of your identity” section, enable the “Enabled” option and replace [identity_label] with the name you want to display in the active identity selection field.
6. Fill in the fields in the “IMAP” and “SMTP” sections with connection details for the e-mail account you are adding.(MultiBox Settings)
7. Optionally enable mail checking and notification options.
8. Save the identity by clicking the “Save” button (in the lower right corner).
9. Done.

To switch between identities, return to the “Mail” tab (top right bar).
In the address bar next to the logo, there is now a field with a list of identities, which allows you to select the active identity for managing your email accounts.


Configuring DAV address book

MultiBox Webmail client allows users to connect and sync contacts with with DAV protocol.
By default MultiBox Webmail connects to address book provided by MultiBox Nextcloud service.

Follow instructions bellow to manually add CardDAV address book hosted at MultiBox.

  1. Go to “Settings > CardDAV”
  2. Click on “➕” - Add CardDAV account (at the bottom)
  3. Fill out fields with:
    1. Name of the account = MultiBox DAV (can be anything you like, just not empty)
    2. Username = %u
    3. Password = (leave empty)
    4. Leve other settings as they are
  4. Click on “Save” button to store configuration.
  5. Click “⚙️” - CardDAV actions and choose “Rediscover addressbooks for the account”.
  6. After rediscover is done you should see your address books listed. Done!

You can now manage contacts for added address books.


Adding & Importing Contacts

You can add contact to address book by adding them manually or by importing a file containing contacts.

Import Contact from File

To import contacts got to “Contacts” tab and choose “Import” option in the top row menu, then follow instructions there.
Currently supported formats for importing contacts are vCard or CSV (comma-separated values) data format. Use of vCard format is recommended.

Transfer Contacts from Google

Open GMail in browser and go to contacts which can be found in the menu in the top right corner (as show on picture)

In Contacts choose “Export” which can be found in the top right corner of contacts list. (see picture)

Choose “vCard for Android iOS” and click “Export”.

You can now import contacts into MultiBox Webmail as described in “Import Contact from File” section above.
